Lima Museums
Lima is a melting pot of many different cultures because of its long history of immigration. Serving as the capital of Peru, it also has many layers of history, such as pre-Inca, the Inca Empire and colonialism. The best way to understand this rich, complex history is to visit the many Lima museums. From Inquisition exhibits to Italian art, Lima offers museums for every type of culture that has forced its will on this ancient city. The main areas where museums are found is the Plaza de Armas and Plaza San Martin areas.
