Cultural event in Peru focuses on Cuba-China conference – Prensa Latina


The program of this event in its 2021 edition is the result of a joint coordination between the Confucius Institute of the Pontifical Catholic University of this South American nation (PUCP), the Confucius Institute of the University of Havana ( UH), the Beijing Embassy in Lima and the PUCP Cinémathèque.

The agenda also includes lectures on Chinatowns in Latin America, by Yrmina Eng, assistant professor in the Faculty of Arts and Letters at UH, and intercultural essences in the Chinese press in Havana, a study undertaken by the communicator Reinier Aldazabal.

For this September 29, the entities involved also offer the etymological sample of the collection of the House-Museum of Asia of the Office of the Historian of the Silk Road with the director of the House of Asia, Yamir Macias, and the museologist of this institution Michelle Garcia.

The history of dragon dance, another of the planned topics, is a research by Jorge Caceres, master of the Chung Shan Chinese Dragon and Lion Dance Society, and the Discovering the Dragon’s Descendants lecture, by Professor Chen Zhi.

The activities will commemorate World Confucius Institutes Day, the birthdays of Master Confucius; the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and China and the Chinese National Day.
