(CNN) – Well guys, July is here and still Covid-19 and its variants refuse to pack their bags and take a summer break.

In the Empire State, New Yorkers will be able to celebrate the holiday with not one but two Statues of Liberty.
Visitors will also finally be able to enter inside the Statue of Liberty itself. Its interior reopened Thursday, up to the pedestal.
The famous monument’s “little sister” left Paris for New York before Independence Day. A gift from France to America, it was first exhibited at Ellis Island and will now remain at the residence of the French Ambassador in Washington, DC for 10 years.

More in Hawaii, the pre-travel testing requirement for fully vaccinated travelers will end on July 8, coinciding with Aloha states vaccination rates reaching 60%.
On the same date, other new rules will come into force. The size of indoor gatherings can range from 10 to 25 people, and restaurants can have up to 75% capacity.
Starting July 5, fully vaccinated Canadians and permanent residents arriving in the country after traveling abroad will be able to exit the mandatory two-week quarantine earlier if they test negative for Covid on entry.
Newfoundland and Labrador, the country’s easternmost province, has also reopened its borders to other Canadians, meaning that all citizens of the country can once again enjoy the delights of Gros Morne National Park, a World Heritage Site of the ‘UNESCO, and Fogo Island.

In Europe
European countries have opened like the doors to an Advent calendar. Two of the last to join the party are Switzerland and Sweden, both of which opened their borders this week to travelers from the United States and other approved countries.
The EU’s Covid digital certificate was officially launched on July 1, having already been introduced on a voluntary basis in several of the EUof the 27 member nations.
The “passport to vaccines” is a way for EU citizens to prove that they have been vaccinated, that they have recently had a negative PCR test or that they have recovered from coronavirus and should allow people to skip quarantine and testing while moving around the block.

The UK expanded its travel âgreen listâ to include popular European tourist destinations, including Malta, Madeira and the the Balearic Islands, as well as Atlantic and Caribbean destinations including Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, Antigua, Barbuda, Dominica, Barbados and Grenade.
This means that British holidaymakers will no longer have to isolate themselves on their return from these places, but – as always – the list is subject to change.

The “Phuket Sandbox” program is needed to restart the country’s economy, Thai Tourism Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn told CNN in an interview on the eve of the reopening.
Off the island, however, the country continues to grapple with its third and worst wave of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic. Thailand reported a record 57 Covid-19 deaths and 5,533 new cases on Thursday, mostly in Bangkok.
The recent Covid outbreaks have taken 10 million Australians into custody and now, from July 14, the country will halve international arrivals to just over 3,000 per week. The new measure will be in place at least until the end of the year.
