The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo has defined the General Policy of the Government for the period 2021-2026 – through Supreme Decree No. 164-2021-PCM– which establishes the 10 key pillars of its government, including short, medium and long term projections for Peru in its bicentennial year.
This regulation covers subjects such as improving the quality of life of all Peruvians, additional doses of COVID-19 vaccines, the fight against citizen insecurity, productive technical education, strengthening of decentralization based on dialogue, strengthening of domestic industry, among others. goals.
As stated in the document, the General Government Policy is immediately applicable and enforceable by all organs of the Executive Power, regional and local governments, and its affiliated organs within the framework of its powers.
The pillars of the General Government Policy for the period 2021-2026 are interconnected and coincide with those of the State policies, which cover the lines of action for their implementation.
Here are the 10 key pillars introduced by the government as part of Peru’s bicentennial:
First pillar: Creation of welfare, social protection and food security.
Second pillar: Reactivation of the economy and productive activities carried out in agricultural and rural areas.
Third pillar: Promotion of science, technology and innovation.
Fourth pillar: Restoration and reinforcement of learning at the levels of primary, higher and technical-productive education with a territorial approach.
Fifth pillar: Decentralization, strengthening of institutions and the public service.
Sixth pillar: Strengthening of the democratic system, public security, as well as the fight against corruption, drug trafficking and terrorism.
Seventh pillar: Effective management of risks and threats to human rights and their environment.
